I've being wanting to paint a light bulb for a long time. The relfections of light are a challenge to me, as I'm more used to paint with bold colors and fairly thick and big brush strokes, so painting thin and more detailed is something I'm learning as I go. One artist that has truly inspired me to paint more realistically is Neil Hollingsworth. If you are not familiar with his work, I garantee you are going to love it!
