Houses Outside of Poitiers, France
Oil on Gessoed Masonite Board (Gessobord)
3.5" wide x 2.5" high
Sold
I remembered a few days ago my childhood. I remember going on vacation with my parents to the island of Margarita, in Venezuela, place we loved to go almost every vacation we had. One of the best things about Margarita island at that time was that you could buy all you wanted without paying taxes, so the first few days we would spend in the down town shopping. Walking through the alleys you would find young artists all over the place, painting on site with their tiny miniature paintings done on board and even glass and mirror. That was the best souveniers you could get from the island. Scenes painted by locals in this tiny boards that you can carry by the dozens in your bag. After all this crossed my mind, I asked my husband to cut me down a board of gessoed masonite I had down into tiny boards of 3.5 x 2.5 inches. Some odd pieces came out too, and this painting of houses outside of Poitiers is painted in my first ever ACEO masonite board. All the paintings in this small format I've done so far are painted on gessoed watercolor paper, which is great, but this one is much better!
If not purchased before 6:00pm EST this painting will be auctioned on eBay around 7:00 pm EST.
Check my store tonight and look for this painting
